Titan Comics Announce RuneScape Comic Debut This October
RuneScape, the hugely popular fantasy gaming IP from leading game developer Jagex, expands into a brand-new comic book series this October from Void Trip writer Ryan O’Sullivan, with artists Sid Kotian (Gambit, The Adventures of Apocalypse Al) and Daniel Bayliss (RuneScape FCBD edition). RUNESCAPE: UNTOLD TALES OF THE GOD WARS is a four-part mini-series published by Titan Comics, and launches with an oversized Issue #1 this October, following a mysterious teaser in Titan’s Free Comic Book Day edition last year.
This new comic joins a range of RuneScape releases from Titan’s partnership with Jagex, which includes graphic novels, original fiction, and coloring books - exploring the rich and vibrant world of Gielinor, home to humans, elves, dwarves, vampyres and dragonkin alike.
Since its release in 2001, over 320m RuneScape accounts have been created across PC, Steam and iOS and Android mobile platforms. Set in the medieval fantasy realm of Gielinor, both RuneScape and the retro styled Old School RuneScape take players on an open-ended adventure in a vast ever evolving world brimming with diverse races, guilds and ancient gods, challenging them to take on varied quests and a host of unique monsters.
Expanding on the fan-favorite God Wars dungeon questline, this new comic book series will delve into the Temple of Lost Ancients, set during the catastrophic and iconic God Wars - where four warring armies fight for control of the Godsword, the only weapon capable of killing a deity. RUNESCAPE: UNTOLD TALES OF THE GOD WARS focuses on Maro, trapped in the center of the conflict, and who dreams of breaking free of his master’s clutches…
The debut comic book issue will feature a host of stunning cover artists including Alan Quah, Ivan Shavrin, Sid Kotian, Alex Moore and RuneScape’s lead concept artist Dave Barker.
RUNESCAPE: UNTOLD TALES OF THE GOD WARS #1 is on sale at comic shops on October 9th, 2024 and will be available to order from the August 2024 edition of Diamond PREVIEWS, and from Forbidden Planet for UK & Europe. Each physical edition of the comic will include a special game code for 200 Runecoins.
