Alpha7 Esports Wins 2025 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship, Plus Major Reveals for PUBG MOBILE in 2026
PUBG MOBILE, one of the world’s most popular mobile games, has concluded its largest-ever global celebration as Bangkok hosted the 2025 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC). The month-long takeover filled the city with esports, culture, creator showcases, and immersive fan experiences, culminating with Alpha7 Esports being crowned champions.
From December 12th-14th, sixteen of the world’s top teams battled for the 2025 PMGCtitle, trophy, and the lion’s share of the $3,000,000 prize pool at Siam Paragon, with the Grand Finals delivering three days of high-intensity play, packed fan zones, and nonstop entertainment. In the end, Alpha7 Esports lifted the 2025 PMGC trophy, with ULF Esports coming in second place and Alpha Gaming rounding out the top three.
Looking back on the wider tournament, day one kicked off with D’Xavier emerging on top and securing an 18-point Chicken Dinner. As teams fought fiercely to climb the ladder, the leaderboard remained unpredictable for most of the day. Nonetheless, closing out the first day, D’Xavier stood tall at the top of the board, tailed by Alpha Gaming off the back of their early win, and with DRX sat in third. Alpha7 Esports’ modest day one performance put them at fourth, a safe spot to rest up and return stronger for day two.
Not unexpectedly, day two completely shook up the leaderboard with Alpha7 Esports jumping from 4th place to 1st with 115 points overall by winning matches eight and nine, and placing 2nd in matches 10 and 12. D’Xavier had a difficult day and slipped from 1st on the leaderboard to 7th, earning only 18 points across all six matches. Meanwhile, DRX and Alpha Gaming stayed firmly in 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, maintaining their spot in the top 3 teams across the 2025 PMGC Grand Finals as the competition moved into its last day.
The third and final day delivered a series of nail-biting moments with the SMASH Rule in effect: the first team to reach 125 points and then secure a Chicken Dinner would be crowned champions; otherwise, victory would go to the team with the highest total points at the end of the six matches. Match 13 saw ULF earn an incredible 24-point Chicken Dinner, followed swiftly by a 25-point Chicken Dinner from Alpha Gaming in match 14. Alpha7 Esports then became the first team to hit the 125-point threshold, with ULF Esports and Alpha Gaming close behind, meaning any of the three needed just one Chicken Dinner to seal the title. With everything riding on the final match, the pressure was palpable. ULF and Alpha Gaming were eliminated during a tense showdown, allowing Alpha7 Esports to finish on 142 points overall and secure the championship, cementing their place in PUBG MOBILEEsports history.
Amplifying Alpha7 Esports’ spectacular win, Carrilho, Revo, Obscure, Mafioso and Guizão each took home the BALENCIAGA l PMGC l PGC 2025 Champion Jacket. With only 16 created exclusively by the iconic fashion house for the PMGC and PGC Champions, the winners now own a priceless piece of fashion history symbolising their esports excellence.
