The Netherlands' largest game event for developers continues in 2025
The most important event for game developers in the Netherlands, INDIGO, will continue in 2025 as a 2-day event and will take place in Rotterdam!
INDIGO has been the game business event of the year for over 15 years where new and established game studios from the Benelux come together to present their new projects to mainly foreign publishers, investors, and media. Dutch Game Garden (DGG) announces that although it is ceasing its own activities, INDIGO will continue in a new independent foundation.
INDIGO 2025 will take place on May 27 and 28, 2025, at the World Trade Center in Rotterdam.
"It has taken years to grow INDIGO into an internationally renowned B2B game event. It's fantastic that the new foundation with a competent team is willing to continue the event with the same ambition!" - J.P. van Seventer, Director of Dutch Game Garden
The continuation of INDIGO is made possible by the Dutch Games Association (DGA), the municipality of Rotterdam, and the Flanders Audiovisual Fund (VAF).
“Entrepreneurship is in Rotterdam’s blood. That’s why we offered our support to enable the continuation of INDIGO. It’s important for the sector to have one high-quality business event in the Netherlands where the industry and investors can meet. This benefits SME entrepreneurs and enhances the Netherlands’ international profile. As the Alderman for Economy, I am proud of all the entrepreneurs in the creative and cultural sector. After all, here in Rotterdam, we know that culture and entrepreneurship go hand in hand.” - Robert Simons, Alderman for Port, Economy, Hospitality, Administration & Deputy Mayor, municipality of Rotterdam
The Flanders Audiovisual Fund had previously collaborated with INDIGO and the Dutch colleagues. By joining forces across borders, the scale of the region becomes large enough to continue playing on the global scale of the game development sector.
"We are very pleased with this continuation of INDIGO. It is the ideal place to bring together Flemish and Dutch talent!" - Youri Loedts, Head of VAF/Game fund

INDIGO as part of the new BGPI foundation
INDIGO will be transferred into a new non-profit foundation called Benelux Games Promotional Initiative (BGPI). This foundation aims to promote game development companies, game makers within Benelux, and the games they produce for the international market.
“We are very grateful for the collaboration of the DGA, the municipality of Rotterdam, and VAF! It helps us get started, but now it’s up to the game industry to truly support INDIGO. The continuation of INDIGO must be carried by the companies in our sector. Established studios contribute to growing the market, while new talent gets the opportunity to launch something from the Benelux. If everyone invests according to their means, the future of both the game industry and INDIGO is very promising.” - Geoff van den Ouden, Chair of the Benelux Games Promotional Initiative (BGPI)
The Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) approaches INDIGO from a broad perspective and emphasizes the growing international potential of the Dutch game industry.
“The continuation of the INDIGO convention offers a unique opportunity to put the Netherlands on the map internationally as a game hub. The Netherlands offers an excellent strategic position as an export hub for the game industry, with access to both European markets and beyond.” - Annemieke Broesterhuizen, Managing Director of International Trade, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO)
Familiar concept, new location
The new initiative guarantees the sector of an international B2B event in its own region, according to the familiar concept of INDIGO. As always, games can be showcased to an international audience on the showcase floor, interesting tracks with cool talks from special guests are available, and of course, there is the opportunity to establish new international business contacts through Meet-To-Match.
All new is the fact that INDIGO will take place as a full 2-day event, giving the industry even more time for each other and making it even more attractive for international guests to visit INDIGO. To underline the international ambition, the World Trade Center in Rotterdam was chosen as its location.
INDIGO 2025 will take place on May 27 and 28 at the WTC in Rotterdam. Tickets and sponsorship opportunities will be available from February 18, 2025, via indigoshowcase.nl
