Sintopia Release Date Revealed Alongside a Hot `n`Sinful Demo

Team17 Digital and Piraknights Games, are asking you to set aside your morals and dive into the flame and flaying chaos of Sintopia, the God building sim packed with humour, spice and absolutely nothing nice (well unless resurrection is your cup of tea). Prepare your souls for when Sintopia launches into Early Access September 4th.

Since the last Sintopia demo we’ve compiled some impressive statistics, which players will no doubt transfer to their resumés.

But what better way to get to grips with the red and quite burny bureaucracy tape of Hell management than to sample your future eternal job up close with the update Sintopia demo, which features all content currently created by the developers, so there’s plenty to see and do in both the Overworld and Hell.

New Demo Features:

  • New Spell: Magmine. A throwable fireball that explodes on contact and spreads fire on the ground. If it does not hit a structure or a character, it becomes a landmine instead. Nice!

  • Key bindings: keyboard shortcuts are now listed in the game settings and can be rebound. Makes being a hellish admin worker even easier!

  • Fear and Motivation props rework: the props don’t cumulate anymore, requiring higher tier-props usage to reach maximum effect. Fear / Motivation technologies in the Liber Administratum have been merged so it’s less expensive to acquire them all. Cost cutting is the way!

A lot of new map objectives, both main and secondary. Also new map modifiers. It’s good to see where the mayhem is happening.

There’s also:

  • New UI panel: information panel in the orbital view, which contains various stats (playtime, average sin, etc.) as well as a summary of Boons / Modifiers selected in Challenge Mode.

    • Some Quality of Life changes, including:

    • Magic Resistance visual feedback.

    • Dedicated alerts for Raids (Guacas, Demon spawns).

    • All Specialist Punishment buildings are now tier 1 unlocks in the Liber Administratum (5 Hearos).

    • Force Push is now more powerful the longer the drawn line is.

    • Saints apparition is now occurring on resurrection, instead of randomly.

    • Permanent highlight on interactive objects (Bells, Logs, Boats, etc.).

  • A broad balancing pass, including making enemy number scale with difficulty, Demons spawning raids as soon as they land in their crater, etc.

Sintopia is a mix of builder and God game, with an asymmetrical loop. On the OVERWORLD, watch a silly civilization of chickpea people make their mark on the world and unfortunately for them, damn themselves by committing a host of sins. Punish the dead souls, keep your receipts for expenses and generate profit to help you build and sustain your Hellish empire.
