Once Human August & September 2024 Updates Feature Animal Ranching, New PvP Scenario and Gamescom Debut
NetEase Games, the online games division of NetEase, Inc., has announced the new content updates coming to Once Human. Updates on August 15 include the new Animal Capture & Ranching Gameplay, The Living Plane takes to the skies, new in-game events and features, and a blazing motorcycle skin. The game has also revealed details about the new September PvP scenario, along with details of the game’s appearance at Gamescom 2024.
Since Once Human launched on July 9, it has peaked at over 230.000 concurrent players and reached #5 on Steam’s player count chart. Fans have become enthralled with the game’s beautiful and dangerous open-world, where the remnants of society face the Lovecraftian horrors known as Deviants, as well as fight for control over the remaining resources.
As a game with a strong focus on online multiplayer, Once Human has been adding new content and events for the fans to enjoy since launch. The developers can now reveal the updates planned to be released in August and September, kicking off a new adventure in this shattered world.
Animal Capture & Ranching Gameplay update has arrived in Once Human
On August 15, Once Human added Animal Capture and Ranching to the game. This allows players to create and maintain farms, providing all kinds of benefits for their settlements.
To stock up your farm, you must capture animals in the wild, including formerly domestic ones that were let loose during the apocalypse. Players can ensnare beasts like deer, wolves, sheep, wild boars, etc. These creatures can be taken to your settlement and will become part of your mini-society.
Once brought back and tamed, the animals can provide you with resources, such as fur and meat. The more aggressive animals can even help defend your base against Deviants, fighting alongside you against the otherworldly beasts and repelling enemy invasions. Moreover, the animal gameplay will receive a huge content update in September, allowing players to breed rare beasts.
With the addition of animal husbandry to Once Human, players can enhance their territory with crop planting and fishing, allowing them to build farms that can survive in a world overflowing with aberrant monsters.
The August update sees the Ancient One take to the skies, Open World Racing events, the Deviant Card Collection, and the first exclusive motorcycle skin arrive in Once Human!
Once Human players have already encountered The Ancient One, referred to informally as "The Living Plane”, which is a colossal creature that can take to the skies. In the August 15 update, players can ride upon this majestic beast and fly through the air to compete in special shooting challenges and earn exclusive rewards.
It’s not just the skies that players will explore, as Once Human will launch the “Open World Racing” event, where players must build customized land vehicles and take them to the wild, pitting their driving skills against each other. These races are points-based challenges where you can earn more by taking unique routes to become the top-scoring player across the server.
Once Human has also added the “Deviant Card Collection” event, where players can earn cards by defeating dangerous Deviants in battle. You can also trade cards with other players to increase your collection. Taking part and building an impressive collection will net you rare rewards, so long as you’re willing to risk slaying a powerful monster for its card.
Those who want to race across Once Human’s world in style can do so through the game’s first motorcycle skin: Pyro Glide. When this skin is used, the player’s motorcycle will emit a roaring flame as its wheels scorch the ground. The Pyro Glide skin is currently only available through the paid Lucky Roulette campaign.
New PvP “Prismverse’s Clash” scenario begins in September
Once Human will launch its second large-scale PvP scenario, Prismverse’s Clash, in September. This will be the first new scenario since the game officially launched, with combat that will up the ante, as players participate in the most exhilarating PvP battles to date.
In Prismverse’s Clash, players must choose to join either Rosetta or Mayfly. Once sides have been declared, they will fight camp anomalies to obtain Prism energy. Those who gather the most energy for their side will be named the victors, so competition will run high among the teams.
