Liminalcore Out Now on Steam
Indie game development studio Shadow Owl Studios has announced that Liminalcore, an atmospheric horror exploration game, is now available on Steam. A downloadable demo version of the game is also available.
Liminalcore is an immersive game where players navigate eerie, in-between worlds like the Poolrooms, blending reality and nightmare. As you explore, you'll uncover fragments of a forgotten past and confront unsettling memories. The deeper you descend, the more you lose yourself, culminating in a final journey into Hell.
The gameplay emphasizes atmosphere over combat, with rare entities and unsettling emptiness. Players can toggle a VHS filter for a distorted, analog horror aesthetic. The goal is to piece together the protagonist's life and death by exploring haunting locations and uncovering hidden memories.
Players will visit four locations: the reflective Poolrooms, a memory-laden space, the claustrophobic Infinite Stairs, and finally, Hell. Inspired by Jared Pike’s Poolrooms and the Backrooms mythos, Liminalcore makes the familiar disturbingly unfamiliar as players descend into the unknown.
