Ghost Ship Publishing Reveals Deep Rock Galactic Season 05 And More in Publisher Stream

Ghost Ship Publishing, the company behind hit co-op game Deep Rock Galactic, has revealed further details of the next season of Deep Rock Galactic on their publisher stream Ghost Ship Publishing: On the Horizon. Alongside the Season 05: Drilling Deeper preview, the developer and publisher shared progress updates on the medieval RTS game Dinolords, as well as development updates for Early Access titles Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor and SpellRogue.

Drilling Into the Details of Deep Rock Galactic Season 05: Drilling Deeper
Ghost Ship Games have revealed details for the upcoming season event, Season 05: Drilling Deeper. Providing a more thorough look at the full list of features and content coming to the game, this preview included a first look at in-game screen captures from Season 05. Themed as a prelude to Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core, Season 05: Drilling Deeper provides an initial first look at the new search-based mission type Deep Scan.

Deep Scan finds miners searching for Resonance Crystals throughout the caves, hooking them up to a scanner to locate the treasure-packed Morkite Geode. Dwarves will then take a Drillevator down to the Geode, as they battle enemies to keep the platform safe. Upon reaching the Geode, players will collect Morkite Seeds before resurfacing and extracting via Jet Boots.

The Season 05: Drilling Deeper preview also touched on the new season event called Core Stone, and the addition of a new difficulty level with Hazard 5+. Over 20 new cave formations will also be added to the cave generator, adding an extra level of complexity for miners to navigate through.

The upcoming season will also welcome a handful of new enemies, 12+ overclocks, DLC armour, and the always-free Seasonal Performance Pass. As an exciting addition to Season 05, Ghost Ship Games is also introducing a toggle, providing players with the option to reactivate and play through previous seasons of the game, including all the seasonal rewards.

Dinos & Dice - Updates on Dinolords and SpellRogue
Northplay also shared news on its upcoming mediaeval RTS strategy Dinolords. Taking place on the backdrop of 11th century England, Dinolords combines traditional historical medieval warfare with prehistoric forces. The invading Danes have tamed an ancient power, and it is up to the players to take up arms against their new scaly adversaries and fight for glory.

Northplay are currently working towards an Early Access launch in Q2 2025 for Dinolords, and the team looks forward to developing the game alongside RTS veterans and fans of medieval games, strategy and, well, yeah - dinosaurs.

The On the Horizon stream continued with a segment during which Ghost Ship chatted to Guidelight Games, a duo of developers behind the deckbuilding roguelike SpellRogue. The team is currently busy iterating on the game’s core gameplay systems and mechanics, balancing rewards and gearing up for their next update that will bring experimental changes to the game’s Ritual mechanics and map rewards.

Danger, Darkness, Development News
The Ghost Ship Publishing team also caught up with Funday Games, developers of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, to reflect on the game’s Early Access launch and popularity. Survivor has sold over 1M copies in only a month after its release, and Funday Games were excited to share more about their next update to the game that will be introducing a new boss unit and enemies, as well as more weapon overclocks.

Last but not least, Ghost Ship Games have provided an update on their roguelike spin off Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core - the game’s Early Access launch is currently planned for 2025.
