A surveillance thriller series returns for a world that caught up with it

Daedalic Entertainment and Osmotic Studios are proud to announce that the critically acclaimed surveillance thriller Orwell: Keeping an Eye On You and its successor Orwell: Ignorance is Strength are coming to Nintendo Switch, fully compatible with Nintendo Switch 2. Both titles will launch on January 21, 2026, with pre-orders available now at a 10% pre-order discount.

Nearly a decade after its original release, Orwell-series continues to resonate with players and critics alike. On Steam, the PC version of the original game maintains a ‘Very Positive’ rating, with 90% of over 15.000 players recommending the game. It is widely praised for its intelligent writing, moral complexity, and its unsettlingly realistic portrayal of digital surveillance. The PC editions remains available on Steam for those who want to experience or revisit the original version.

Originally released on PC in 2016 and 2018, the Orwell-series now returns to a world that has, in many ways, caught up with its dystopian vision. In an era shaped by data tracking, digital profiling, and algorithmic decision-making, the game’s central question remains more urgent than ever: how much privacy are we willing to sacrifice in the name of security?

In Orwell: Keeping an Eye On You, players step into the role of a government investigator tasked with monitoring citizens through their private messages, emails, social media activity, and personal data. By deciding what information to forward to the authorities, players directly influence the course of an unfolding terrorism investigation, and with it the lives of the people involved. The game never tells you what the “right” choice is, only that every decision carries consequences.

Orwell: Ignorance is Strength continues the series with a new story set in the same unsettling world of digital surveillance and political manipulation. Players are once again asked to investigate, analyze, and report on citizens, but this time from a broader geopolitical perspective, dealing with fake news, propaganda, and the power of influence in an age of information warfare. Building on the moral complexity of the original, the sequel expands the scope of player choice, offering a deeper look at how truth can be shaped, distorted, and weaponized.

With the releases on Nintendo Switch, and fully playable on Nintendo Switch 2, the Orwell-series brings its gripping narrative and ethical dilemmas to console players for the first time. Whether played at home or on the go, its message feels more timely now than ever.
