V-Racer Hoverbike Hits Full Throttle on Meta Quest This June

After several years of development and refinement, V-Racer Hoverbike is finally ready to hit full throttle. Developed by VertexBreakers and published by Impact Inked, the fast-paced sci-fi racer launches June 12 on Meta Quest for $29.99 USD, blending arcade-style speed, precision VR controls, and high-stakes combat racing across a massive range of content. Pre-orders are now live with a 10% discount and an exclusive “Solar Flare” character skin for early adopters.

V-Racer Hoverbike is not a sim. It’s not a port. It’s a native VR arcade racer designed from the ground up to make high-speed racing feel amazing in a headset. Players pilot futuristic hoverbikes through 30 diverse tracks-from alien deserts to neon cities and orbital circuits-using a body-based chest-leaning control system that feels natural, intuitive, and motion-sickness free. The sensation of leaning is matched by the bike’s movement on screen, creating physical feedback that makes speed immersive, not uncomfortable.

The game offers seven unique game modes at launch:

  • Career Mode - Compete in structured championships, earn XP, unlock new bikes and suits, and advance through a galaxy of league challenges. Tracks are grouped across five circuits-Star League, Kovas League, Zakhar League, Space League, and Hoverbike GP-offering varied terrain, difficulty, and visual style.

  • Time Trial - Race against the clock and climb global leaderboards as you perfect every corner. Compete against your own ghosts or challenge those of top players to shave off every last millisecond.

  • Weekly Challenge - A new event every week featuring rotating tracks, lap counts, and bike restrictions. Players from around the world compete asynchronously for leaderboard placement and bragging rights.

  • Combat Race - Classic arcade racing meets chaos. Pick up missiles, EMP blasts, homing drones, and mines as you fight your way through aggressive opponents in high-speed, weaponized showdowns.

  • Survivor - Tension rises with every lap. The last racer in each round is eliminated until only one remains. Survival demands precision, aggression, and smart risk-taking.

  • Neon Runner - An endless runner mode set in a synth-drenched gauntlet of gates, mines, and tight corridors. Your time only extends when you hit precision gates-every second counts.

  • Multiplayer - Real-time races with up to six players, featuring optional combat rules and cross-platform play between Meta Quest and PC VR. Whether casual or cutthroat, every session is built for speed, chaos, and competition.

[l1]For players who prefer to set their own pace, V-Racer Hoverbike includes a Free Play mode that offers complete control over race conditions. Choose your track, bike, AI difficulty, lap count, and weapon settings to create the perfect solo session-whether you're practicing lines, testing out a new loadout, or just enjoying the ride. It’s also the ideal space to experiment with different suits and liveries before heading back into multiplayer or career challenges.

Customization plays a key role in the player experience. The game includes a VR-based livery editor, allowing players to paint, decal, and personalize their bike, suit, and helmet. A mixed reality showroom lets players display their customized rides in their real-world environment. During replays, players can use the advanced VR photo and replay editor to adjust camera angles, pause action, and capture highlight footage or stills to share online.

V-Racer Hoverbike first hit the scene in 2018 as a PC VR Early Access title, where it earned a 9/10 player rating and built a loyal following. Since then, the game has undergone years of refinement and expansion-and with its official Meta Quest release, it’s not just back, it’s bigger, smoother, and more fully realized than ever. The entire experience has been overhauled: a redesigned menu lobby now spans four immersive environments; a brand-new multiplayer social hub allows players to meet, gesture, and hang out between races; and every bike now has its own unique handling profile, letting players find the ride that best suits their style.

Sound and presentation have been elevated across the board, with an all-new soundtrack and updated sound design that make each track feel more alive. For the first time, the game also includes Mixed Reality support, letting players bring their customized hoverbikes into their real-world surroundings using the MR showroom and livery editor. Cross-platform multiplayer has been fully implemented, allowing Quest and PC VR players to race together in real time, and weekly challenges have been expanded into a global competition system designed to keep the community coming back every week.

“There were times we left it for months, but every time we came back to it, we said the same thing-this is still so much fun,” said the team at VertexBreakers. “We kept refining it, polishing it, and now it feels the way it was always meant to.”

Whether you're chasing leaderboard glory, dominating your friends in combat races, or just looking for a new way to feel speed in VR, V-Racer Hoverbike delivers a high-content, high-quality, high-intensity experience that rewards both reflex and control.
