Upcoming Psychological Horror Toxoplasma Demo Launching Next Week

Kuwait-based solo developer studio SimmeringConcrete have announced that their upcoming psychological horror title Toxoplasma is receiving a demo, launching on PC (Steam) on April 9.

Abandoned on a space station, develop your bioweapon.
In Toxoplasma, you are trapped on an abandoned space station, developing a bio-weapon that makes the infected hallucinate demonic entities. Spot any anomalous signs of infection before they kill you, complete your research, and unmask the conspiracy that brought you here.

The demo will introduce the player to the setting and unveil some early story beats. It will feature over 20 possible anomalies/hallucinations that may arise while the player is developing the bio-weapon on a day-to-day basis.

"When I first started working on Toxoplasma in 2025, I wanted it to leave an impact on the player." Shared solo developer Mohammad Baqer. "The psychological horror games that stuck with me the most are the ones that played into real human fears and experiences; for example, seeing your loved ones change due to mental illness, the eventual loss of them, and the aftermath. These are the themes of Toxoplasma. I truly hope that the players will enjoy a fun and spooky experience that leaves them thinking as well!"

Toxoplasma's demo is launching on PC (Steam) on April 9, 2026.

About Toxoplasma
Toxoplasma is a First Person Sci-Fi Horror game set on an abandoned space station where you're developing a bio-weapon designed to end humanity.

The world is falling apart. A rise of violence and misanthropy ravages the Earth, but your space station is not safe either. Every day you work towards a bio-weapon made to wipe out humanity in the most brutal way possible.

Anyone who is contaminated hallucinates demonic entities that torment them until they die. You must complete its development before your hallucinations kill you. You must figure out why you are trapped here.

The infection manifests differently each playthrough. No two experiences are identical, ensuring a terrifying experience for newcomers and veterans

Features:

  • Identify anomalies before your hallucinations become fatal

  • Progress your bio-weapon research

  • Distinguish reality from demonic hallucinations

  • Piece together the conspiracy behind your mission through scattered evidence and radio transmissions

  • Your choices shape multiple endings, including a hidden ending
