Trash Goblin devs launch demo & Kickstarter campaign for mining & cooking adventure Gobble Inn
"Best Small Studio" indie game developer and creator of Trash Goblin, Spilt Milk Studios, have just opened up pledges on Kickstarter for their next title Gobble Inn, a cosy run-based game where you dig in a mine for ingredients to make sure hungry goblins, lizardfolk and more are well fed. Gobble Inn features voice talent Penelope Rawlins as the glorious matriarch & delving powerhouse Aunty Val, and Tim Downie as fan-favourite lizard-with-a-heart-of-gold Donoval. Best of all, you can play a demo for it right now on Steam.
The Gobble Inn demo features:
10+ floors of the Chasm to explore across 2 biomes; "Mossy Drop" and "Mines"
5+ quests to undertake, given by 5 fascinating characters you meet
4 flavourful tools to use on your delves, each of them with unique tactile behaviours
16 Curséd Trinkets to unlock and shape your runs with
9 fresh ingredients to collect, so you can make…
6 delicious dishes! Cook and sell them, or gobble for powerups!
Donate spare food to the needy
Expand the Inn with tables and chairs to serve more customers
2+hrs of playtime to see everything
Starring Trash Goblin’s fan-favourite cantankerous goblin superstar Aunty Val, you’ll have to dig through the mines of the capricious & ever-changing Chasm to gather food using curséd trinkets, then share your bounty at the Gobble Inn!
Dig deep as you seek delicious and rare foodstuffs with a range of unlockable tools. Explore wild biomes filled with a variety of block types, stuffing each descent with new challenges and surprises. Then take the spoils of your dig back to the surface and tinker with your bounty to discover new recipes for meals, feed hungry customers, and raise the reputation of your inn!
In Gobble Inn, every run is tactile, unpredictable and moreish. Each expedition into its seemingly endless hand-crafted caves is stuffed with a smorgasbord of blocks to break, goodies to find, and secrets to uncover!

“We’re excited to launch this Kickstarter campaign for Gobble Inn, as our beloved flagship title Trash Goblin also began as a Kickstarter campaign - and we’ve developed an incredible community over the years that have been instrumental in shaping Trash Goblin into the beloved gem it is today,” said Andrew Smith, Creative Director at Spilt Milk Studios. “Gobble Inn offers a similar tone, with recognizable characters returning, albeit with a vastly different gameplay system that’s more urgent and arcadey. Since it’s such a huge pivot from Trash Goblin, we wanted to give prospective players an early look at it. That’s why we’re offering a demo so early, so our fanbase can vote with their wallets regarding what kind of experience they’d like next from Spilt Milk. We hope you like this sneak peak at what we’ve been brewing at spilt Milk HQ!”
