Torchlight: Infinite launches new hardcore server, The Unbound

Publisher XD Games is thrilled to announce the official launch of Torchlight: Infinite’s new Hardcore Server: The Unbound.

Designed to shake things up as a recurring seasonal event, this mid-season update introduces powerful new game mechanics and frantic gameplay for players willing to test their skills under the threat of permadeath.

The Unbound brings back mechanics from prior seasons and introduces two main changes to the core Torchlight: Infinite gameplay experience: Unbound - Move to Cast, and Unshackled Destiny. Unbound - Move to Cast regularly fires players’ Main Skill as they move across the battlefield, meaning players can progress through maps and level up faster.

Meanwhile, Unshackled Destiny removes all limits on Destiny Installs. This means players have more freedom to customise their builds so they can maximise their chances of successfully taking on The Unbound’s challenges.

The Unbound will also introduce five new Compasses, which can enhance players’ runs in a big way.

Those five Compasses are:

  • Unbound Arcana Compass: Boosts your chances to encounter a Tarot Trial after killing a Boss in Arcana, with each completed Tarot Trial raising the chance of Secret Paths spawning.

  • Unbound Overrealm Compass: Guarantees that your first Bottle Shadow captured in the Overrealm will be Red Quality or better.

  • Unbound Outlaw Compass: Guarantees every Bonus Supply triggers two additional times in relevant content.

  • Unbound Dark Surge Compass: Greatly increases the chances that Dark Surge rewards will roll as Legendary Gear.

  • Unbound Lunaria Compass: Guarantees that players in Lunaria will summon a Scarlet Moon Incantation boss encounter.

All five Compasses can be obtained for free, but interested players should come prepared. They don’t just boost your runs and rewards, they also raise the stakes and make enemies more dangerous.

There is no guarantee that The Unbound’s game mechanics will be introduced to the live server, so any players looking for a higher level of risk (and reward) should hop into Torchlight: Infinite’s new hardcore server from today.
