The penguins have seen enough: Penguin Colony descends into Antarctic madness on October 16
Fellow Traveller and ORIGAME DIGITAL today announced that Penguin Colony, the new cosmic horror game from Umurangi Generation creator Tali Faulkner, will launch on the new release date of October 16, 2026, for PC via Steam, with Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 to follow next year.

It is 1939, and two rival groups have arrived in Antarctica: a Nazi expedition searching for evidence of an ancient power that might validate their ridiculous fantasies of superiority, and a Kaitiaki mission seeking to stop them and return what lies beneath the ice to its slumber.
You are a penguin.

In Penguin Colony, players explore the Antarctic landscape by inhabiting different penguins, each with their own abilities and limitations. Waddle across the ice, slide down slopes, dive beneath the water and squeeze into places humans cannot reach as you follow the two groups and piece together what is happening.
Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness and John Carpenter’s The Thing, Penguin Colony draws on the ambiguity and experimentation of an earlier era of horror design. Rather than explaining every discovery, the game asks players to pay attention, interpret what they find and decide for themselves what it means

The game's Insight system can even alter what the player is capable of perceiving, while discoveries hidden throughout Antarctica are designed to encourage players to compare notes, share interpretations and collectively uncover mysteries that may not reveal themselves on a first playthrough.
