Terrifyingly Transformative New Game+ Mode and PlayStation 5 Physical Edition of Acclaimed Psychological Horror Game Total Chaos Announced

Apogee Entertainment and developer Sam Prebble of Trigger Happy Interactive are thrilled to announce today that the descent into madness is far from over; Fort Oasis is not done with us.

Acclaimed psychological horror game Total Chaos is set to receive a New Game+ mode early next year, which will introduce new narrative elements and a terrifying new stalker enemy type for those brave enough to replay the game. Additionally, as part of Apogee’s partnership with Atari publishing label Infogrames and Clear River Games, a physical edition of Total Chaos is now available for pre-order on Atari.com and through various retailers, with a release window of Q1 2026.

Total Chaos is a pulse-pounding, atmospheric nightmare that blends different eras of survival horror hallmarks. It features classically inspired resource management, methodical melee combat and gunplay, haunting visuals, and grotesque environments and creatures.

What began as an award-winning total conversion mod of DOOM II has now evolved into a fully standalone title, boasting a spine-tingling atmosphere and an aggressively uneasy tension throughout. Developer Sam Prebble leveraged his game (Turbo Overkill) and Hollywood (Avatar, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Rise of the Planet of the Apes) visual effects talents to deliver a full-scale survival horror experience that will gnaw away at players’ sense of safety.

Along their journey, Total Chaos’ New Game+ mode introduces a new enemy: the Hunter. This stalker’s presence will be ever-present, adding a whole new dimension of fear to the game and increasing the challenge. Thankfully, players will retain their crafting recipes and gear from their previous playthrough… but will that be enough? New Game+ will be available as a free game update on all platforms in Q1 2026.
