Ryo Saeba is Back in City Hunter, Coming to Consoles and PC on February 26, 2026
Clouded Leopard Entertainment and Red Art Games are excited to reveal that as part of City Hunter’s 40th Anniversary, they are bringing City Hunter to Nintendo Switch™2, Nintendo Switch™, PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (via Steam®) on February 26, 2026 digitally!
Based on SUNSOFT’s original City Hunter game released in 1990 on PC Engine, City Hunter is a remastered version published by Clouded Leopard Entertainment. Development and Western distribution of this 2026 version of the classic 2D Action game are being handled by Red Art Games. PC players can wishlist City Hunter on Steam now!
Inspired by the first season of Sunrise’s legendary anime, City Hunter follows Tokyo’s renowned ‘cleaner,’ Ryo Saeba. In this original side story, he faces off against a sinister megacorporation whose conspiracy threatens the world. To celebrate City Hunter’s rerelease, English, French, Italian, German and Spanish localization has been implemented into the original game. And as a tribute to the anime’s original ending theme, TM Network’s iconic “Get Wild” has also been added to the game!

In addition to its digital release, City Hunter will also get multiple physical editions on Nintendo Switch and PS5 in Europe March 26, 2026 (Ryo Saeba’s birthday). While City Hunter’s Standard and Collector’s Editions will be available from multiple retailers upon release, the limited Deluxe Edition (500 copies per platform) will be exclusive to Red Art Games’ official online store. Pre-orders for all three Nintendo Switch and PS5 versions of City Hunter will open on Red Art Games’ official online store on Friday September 26, 2026 at 10 am CEST. Details about the physical editions’ content will be revealed soon.
