Roboquest VR Storms Meta Quest as Cross-Platform Co-Op Goes Live Today

Flat2VR Studios is excited to announce that Roboquest VR is now available on Meta Quest 3 and 3S for $29.99 USD. The launch arrives alongside a free cross-platform co-op update for PlayStation VR2 and SteamVR, giving two Guardians the chance to reboot, reload, and wreck their way through Haven City together.

Roboquest VR is a fast-paced roguelite FPS set in a scorched future world overrun by mechanical swarms. Players sprint, slide, double-jump, grind, and rocket through shifting levels where standing still is rarely a good idea. Every run brings new weapons, perks, and build possibilities, rewarding quick reflexes, sharper aim, and the willingness to try something reckless.

More than 70 weapons have been rebuilt for VR, covering everything from shotguns, energy rifles, pistols, and bows to ninja stars, flamethrowers, explosive launchers, and close-range melee tools. Players manually reload, steady weapons with both hands, feel the recoil, and physically work each piece of the arsenal. Dual-wield pistols for a little extra style, draw a bow under pressure, charge a rocket blast, or close the distance and start swinging.

Runs shift with every attempt, changing routes, encounters, rewards, and the decisions players make along the way. Distinct Guardian classes and game-changing perks support builds focused on speed, precision, defense, drones, explosives, and whatever strange combination manages to survive. Wrenches collected during each run return to Basecamp, where permanent upgrades open new possibilities for the next trip into Haven City.

Now, Guardians can bring backup.

Cross-platform co-op lets two players fight through the full Roboquest VR campaign together, regardless of whether they are playing on Meta Quest 3/3S, PlayStation VR2, or SteamVR. Players can find a partner through Quickplay, connect with a Room Code, or invite a friend directly.

Two Guardians Are Better Than One

  • Cross-Platform Play - Team up across Meta Quest 3/3S, PlayStation VR2, and SteamVR through Quick-play, Room Codes, or direct invitations.

  • Shared Runs - Begin each run together, open doors as a team, and agree before skipping cinematics.

  • Personal Progression - Chests, healing items, and rewards are generated separately, allowing each Guardian to build their own loadout.

  • Weapon Sharing - Pass weapons between players when something better suits a teammate’s build.

  • Co-Op Revives - Self-revive after a cool-down or revive a fallen teammate immediately, splitting the restored health between both players.

  • Host Progress Access - Join any run the host has already unlocked without requiring identical Basecamp progression.

Co-op keeps both players moving. The game continues while perks are being selected, so Guardians will need to choose quickly and keep an eye on the fight. Purple room rewards also wait until both players reach the reward area, ensuring nobody gets left behind when the good stuff appears.

The Meta Quest launch brings the complete Roboquest VR experience to standalone headsets, including the full campaign, more than 70 weapons, distinct Guardian classes, persistent Basecamp upgrades, procedurally generated runs, towering bosses, and cross-platform co-op. Its cel-shaded world remains clear and readable at speed, helping players track incoming fire, weave through bullet-heavy encounters, and return the favor before the machines know what hit them.

Flat2VR Studios rebuilt Roboquest for virtual reality in collaboration with Ryse Up, the original developer behind the acclaimed flatscreen game. The adaptation preserves the original’s depth, momentum, and constant build experimentation while reshaping its weapons, movement, and interactions around physical play. Every reload, dodge, and near miss now happens directly through the player’s own hands and movement.

Roboquest VR is available now for $29.99 USD on Meta Quest 3/3S, PlayStation VR2, and SteamVR. Cross-platform two-player co-op is available today as a free update on all platforms.

The bots have had Haven City to themselves for long enough.
