Tlön Industries, developers of the acclaimed terraforming game Per Aspera, have today released a demo of their upcoming strategic god game Demiurgos. Revealed with a new gameplay trailer as part of the Latin American Games Showcase at The Game Awards, Demiurgos lets players compete against pantheons of divine opponents, manipulating the mere mortals they all oversee.
This demo encapsulates the first part of the game, where you start on a separate island and you can play as either Anubis or Poseidon. Here you can come to grips with many of the game’s key features and mechanics.
In Demiurgos, you embody one of many deities, such as Marduk, Loki, Anubis, Mars, or Poseidon. Gathered as divine players around a cosmic table, you must compete against your rival gods in a game orchestrated by the enigmatic game master Demiurgos. The living tabletop board is your arena; a dynamic world teeming with mortal pawns. Your goal: beat opposing gods to claim exclusive Celestial Titles-victory points earned through unique, challenging conditions.
In a pausable real-time environment, Demiurgos blends strategic depth with divine rivalry. Wield miracles to reshape the board by summoning storms or blooming forests; convert mortals to fuel your faith; and undermine adversaries by stealing their followers or disrupting their plans. Each deity offers diverse strategies using their unique powers and perks. Choose your path: Will you foster harmony as a god of light? Or unleash chaos as a deity of darkness? The living board reacts dynamically-mortals may rebel, factions shift, and conflicting gods counter with their own divine interventions.
Compete against cunning AI in single-player or face human opponents in multiplayer, where alliances and betrayals heighten the stakes. Success demands balancing faith resources, anticipating rival moves, and pursuing titles like “Fate Spinner” or “Harbinger of Chaos.” With emergent storytelling, a growing roster of deities planned for future expansions, and a richly interactive world, Demiurgos lets you forge a divine legacy in a strategic contest where gods play and mortals are pawns in a cosmic game.
