Phasmophobia’s fifth year festivities bring board game and merch drops

This week Kinetic Games has been celebrating Phasmophobia’s anniversary, inviting ghost hunters to celebrate five years since the genre-defining horror game’s launch into Early Access.

Since the 15th of September, players have been treated to a spine-chilling week filled with surprises. From in-game celebrations with an anniversary themed weekly challenge, double XP weekend and themed menu decorations, to a Phasmophobia board game and a thrilling merch drop - here’s everything that happened this week:

In-game treats and rewards

  • Phasmophobia’s First Double XP weekend began this week, but it’s not over just yet - ghost hunters have until 11:59PM BST on Sunday 21st September to earn double rewards in all activities.

  • Anniversary Twitch Drops arrived, allowing players to earn an in-game goodie by watching 2 hours of Phasmophobia streams until 12PM BST Monday 22nd September.

  • An Eerie Login Bonus is currently live, which players can earn by simply logging into Phasmophobia by 11:59PM BST Sunday 21st September.

Phasmophobia: The Board Game

  • Lost In Cult X Phasmophobia Partnership announcement revealed Phasmophobia is coming to tabletops, with pre-orders for Phasmophobia: The Board Game set to open on 23rd October 2025.

Merch fit for a Ghost Hunt

  • Major 5th Anniversary Merch Drop landed on the official store this week, hot on the heels of the store’s recent launch earlier this month in the UK and US.

  • The 5th Anniversary Edition Music Box, closely resembling the in-game Cursed possession (minus the risk of a hunt), was announced - made in collaboration with The Music Box Store, which can be ordered via their store here.

  • Insert Coin X Phasmophobia partnered together for a new line of items that can now be pre-ordered via their store here.

To celebrate Phasmophobia’s five year anniversary, the Kinetic Games team also put together a video which you can check out here - to say thank you to the ghost hunting community.
