Phantom Line: Free Prologue Announced
Antistatic Studios, an indie game developer and publisher, announces that a brand-new free first chapter of its tactical co-op paranormal shooter, Phantom Line: Prologue arrives October 26 on Steam and Epic Games Store! Players will get their first taste of the action ahead of the game's full release in 2027.
Phantom Line is a 1–4 player PvE co-op shooter set in Europe at the dawn of a nuclear devastation. Players step into the boots of special operatives tasked with investigating and containing unpredictable paranormal phenomena across a dynamic open world where danger can strike at any moment.
THE PROLOGUE
Serving as a free introduction to the full game, Phantom Line: Prologue puts players in the role of a secret elite operative working for the mysterious Mortfield Industries. Tasked with investigating a research facility that has gone dark in the Iron Corridor, a region of Eastern Europe caught between international tensions and paranormal activity. As nuclear war erupts, players must navigate a collapsing world filled with monstrous entities and anomalies that threaten reality. The Prologue also introduces players to the H.U.S.K. system, Mortfield’s experimental technology that allows operatives to transfer their consciousness between artificial bodies, opening up new tactical possibilities for scouting, creating distractions, and overcoming deadly encounters.

ENTER THE ANOMALY POCKETS
While combat and exploration are at the heart of Phantom Line, the prologue expands the experience beyond the battlefield, introducing something far more unsettling.
Players will be introduced to the Anomaly Pockets: strange, alternate spaces scattered throughout the world and accessible through mysterious portals. Once inside, the known rules of reality begin to break down, revealing hostile creatures, puzzles, and unexplained phenomena.
More than a test of survival, these spaces challenge players to question what they see and hear. Every corridor, room, and unexplained sound could signal a potential threat, forcing operatives to slow down, carefully survey their surroundings, and rely on their training to make it out alive.
In Phantom Line: Prologue, players will have the opportunity to uncover the beginnings of the game's story, complete the tutorial, tackle the first story mission, and make their way to their base. While the explorable area is limited compared to the full game, the Prologue offers plenty of content to discover, introduces the core mechanics, and provides a glimpse of the open-world exploration that awaits in the full experience!

WHAT CHANGED SINCE THE LAST PLAYTEST?
Thanks to everyone who played Phantom Line during our March 2026 playtest and shared their feedback, one of the main changes for the Prologue was shortening the tutorial, addressing comments that it was too long and giving players more room to discover and experiment with the game’s mechanics on their own.
Following great feedback from players who enjoyed the atmosphere of the Anomaly Pockets, the team decided to invest even further in this aspect of the experience, introducing new layouts and challenges that change with each playthrough.
Taking into account comments on the combat experience, the gunplay has also undergone a major overhaul, introducing new fire modes, tactical reloads, magazine malfunctions, and improved ballistic effects. These changes aim to further strengthen Phantom Line’s focus on delivering an immersive and tactical military combat experience. Alongside an overhauled humanoid AI, the update introduces a refreshed UI with numerous quality-of-life refinements, a dedicated input bindings menu for full control customization, and continuous performance optimizations.
The Phantom Line team will continue working closely with the community to deliver an even better experience for players!
