One week of KABOOMANIA - the retro maze bomber with an exclusive Chris Huelsbeck soundtrac
One week ago, independent studio Fancy Factory released KABOOMANIA, a fast-paced retro maze bomber that spans an entire era of gaming in a single launch: available on PC (Windows, Mac, Linux), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, iPhone and iPad - and, remarkably, on authentic Commodore Amiga hardware, including the Amiga 500, Amiga 1200, and CD32.
Collectors can even get a physical boxed Amiga edition with a real box, a real printed manual, and real floppy disks - just like it's 1992.

A Brand-New Game, Not a Remake
KABOOMANIA is neither a remake nor a clone, but a brand-new interpretation of the classic maze-bomber formula: 1,000 handcrafted levels across five themed worlds, dozens of quirky enemies with distinct behaviors, explosive power-ups, and a chaotic 4-player local couch battle mode. The game is rendered in authentic 320x256 pixel art using the 128-color AGA palette of the Amiga 1200, with a dedicated 32-color version for the original Amiga 500.
One Soundtrack, Every Platform - From PS5 to a Real Amiga from 1992
At the heart of KABOOMANIA is an exclusive original score by Chris Huelsbeck, the composer whose music defined the sound of the Amiga generation with Turrican, The Great Giana Sisters, Apidya, and Katakis. The soundtrack ships in two technically distinct renditions of the same composition: a fully produced version for modern platforms, and a hardware-faithful ProTracker MOD conversion for original Amiga machines, handled by longtime Huelsbeck collaborator Fabian Del Priore (Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams, Giana Sisters DS). The result sounds period-perfect on real 90s hardware and cinematic on a modern console - without compromising either world.
The official 14-track soundtrack, including both the arranged and original sound versions, is available on Steam and itch.io.
A Successful First Week
Originally funded on Kickstarter, KABOOMANIA launched on August 13 and was met with enthusiasm across the retro and indie communities. Amiga community icon Amiga Bill summed it up: ". .. it's rad! Triple A quality!"
KABOOMANIA is available now for €9.90 / $9.90 on all digital platforms. A free demo is available on Steam (modern version) and itch.io (authentic Amiga 1200 version).
