New Roadside Research update promises more antics for the undercover aliens
A spaceship parked itself on top of the gas station, leaving the station better
equipped than ever. Roadside Research, the co-op alien gas-station simulator from developer Cybernetic Walrus and publisher Oro Interactive, is getting a new update on May 19th.
The update brings a full station expansion. Inside the new alien room, there's a hands-on tactile research task that has players studying human samples step by step, part of a heavier focus on simulation elements the team is building toward in future updates.
On top of that, the update adds:
Ready-to-eat meal products for customers to grab and go
Free placement hooks to hang tools anywhere in the store
New decorations including a Gnurp Cheese altar, basketball hoop, posters, and wall signs
An anti-motion sickness setting and quality-of-life improvements
To celebrate, Roadside Research is 30% off on Steam from May 14 to May 28.
Station Expansion: The Ship Has Landed
An alien spacecraft now sits on top of the gas station, moving the alien room up into the ship and opening up an expanded storage room at the back of the station. More shelf space, more stock, and a perfectly ordinary gas station that just happens to have a spaceship on the roof.
Inside the New Alien Room
The new and improved alien room comes with a new tactile research task, putting players
through a series of hands-on steps to study human samples and gather more intel on the locals. This marks a heavier focus on simulation elements for future updates.
Quick Bites, Happy Humans
Nothing says blending in like stocking ready-to-eat meals. The update adds a new range of
grab-and-go food products to the shelves, giving customers more variety and the station more ways to turn a profit.
Tools Where You Need Them
No more going back to the alien room every time you need a tool. Free placement hooks let
players hang equipment anywhere around the store, keeping the essentials within reach during a busy shift.
Fresh Decorations for the Store
New decorative options let players personalize their station further, including a basketball hoop stand, new posters, an inspirational wall signs collection, a Gnurp Cheese altar, and much more.
A Smoother Shift for Everyone
The update also brings an anti-motion sickness setting that lets players click items directly onto the cash register instead of dragging them into the basket, alongside a round of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes to keep the station running smoothly.
To celebrate the update, Roadside Research will be available at a 30% discount on Steam from May 14 to May 28**. The game is available now in Early Access on Steam for $12.99 USD / EUR
