Checkpoint game mode: Team deathmatch with capturing and holding objectives

Checkpoint adds a new element of strategy and teamwork to the game. In this mode, teams of players will battle for control the objectives located on the map, allowing them to demonstrate their skills and tactical thinking with the new rules.

In Checkpoint mode, the held objectives earn capture points for the controlling team. To win the match, the team must be the first to accumulate the required number of capture points, which adds an extra level of tension and competition to each battle.

The mode is available on the following locations:
- Bay 5
- Bowl
- Fort

In future updates the game mode will also be available for other locations;
New location - Fort

  • A new location called Fort has been added to the game.

  • The mid-19th century fort was named in honor of Emperor Nicholas I. Having lost its strategic importance almost immediately after the construction was completed, it was converted into a prison. The fort was abandoned and served as a temporary base for the Russian Armed Forces. Now it has become one of the most entertaining gunfight arenas in Tarkov.

  • The new location was created with the new game mode in mind, and for a full experience the developers recommend trying it out in Checkpoint mode.

  • The location is also available for BlastGang mode. In future updates, Fort will be available for other game modes as well;

V40 Mini-Grenade

  • The new V40 Mini-Grenade has been added to the game. Its damage capabilities are much lower than the classic frag grenades. The V40 will replace RGD-5 and F-1 grenades in BlastGang and TeamFight modes.

  • This addition is aimed at reducing the number of unintended deaths from grenades in matches;

M18 smoke grenade (Yellow)

  • A yellow-colored M18 smoke grenade has been added to all locations in BlastGang mode. The new grenade has an increased smoke release speed and density, and the smoke now fills the space around it.

  • The new grenade is aimed at increasing tactical depth and gameplay variety in BlastGang mode. Smoke grenades will become a more effective tool for creating cover, limiting enemy visibility and establishing maneuverability

Round and match MVP system

  • Added a Round and Match MVP system aimed at improving the game experience and rewarding individual outstanding players. As part of this update, the MVP award system is being introduced to encourage players to participate more actively in matches.

    • MVP system:

      • Round MVP is awarded at the end of the round for the player's contribution to the victory;

      • Match MVP is awarded to the best player of the winning team who scored the most Round MVPs;

      • In LastHero mode, Match MVP is awarded to the player with the most kills;

      • In CheckPoint mode, Match MVP is awarded to the player who has captured the most objectives.

  • Priority criteria for MVP selection include actions such as planting/disarming the device, capturing an objective, kills, kill assists, and damage dealt.

  • Performance bonuses:

    • For Round MVP and Match MVP, players receive a bonus to the match rewards:

      • For Match MVP, you receive bonuses of +15% to cash and +15% to experience;

      • For each Round MVP, you receive bonuses of +2% to cash and +2% to experience;

An important note is that you can only receive one type of bonus: either for the Match MVP or for each Round MVP.
