NCSOFT survival-shooter Time Takers closed beta signups now open
NCSOFT and developer Mistil Games today announced that the first Closed Beta Test (CBT) for Time Takers will officially begin on 13 March 2026. Launching on Steam, this test marks the first public hands-on with this highly anticipated survival shooter. Time Takers challenges teams of three to fight across time-fractured battlefields, collecting "Time Energy" to upgrade abilities mid-fight in order to outlast opponents in its stylish, high-speed, tactical combat.
Unlike traditional shooters, where health is the primary focus, Time Takers introduces a high-pressure economy in which every second counts. Players collect Time Energy to level up their skills and equip combat-enhancing “apps" mid-match. However, Time Energy is also what keeps the team alive and in the fight, so while upgrading rapidly could give you an edge in power, spending too much could leave your team on the brink of death. The result is a gameplay loop centred on constant engagement and quick decision-making, rewarding squads that know precisely when to hold back and when to risk it all.
The March CBT participants will have the chance to experience the core of Time Takers gameplay, including:
12 Playable Characters: Choose from a diverse cast of characters plucked from time, from a medieval knight to a futuristic alien, each with unique abilities, weapons and skills.
Three Immersive Maps: Battle across the traditional Japanese-themed Yokogawa, the maze-like stone corridors of medieval Morstadt, and the neon-drenched, futuristic streets of the Seoul-inspired Miraesi.
Three-player Strategy: Matches are built for teams of three, emphasising high mobility and coordination, with players able to use Time Energy to level up or transfer their lifespan to extend a teammate’s time.
While Time Takers players from around the world are encouraged to join the March CBT, NCSOFT will focus on North and South America, with players in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, and Peru able to join directly via the official Steam page. Players outside these countries will be able to join the game's Discord, where they can earn Steam Promo codes for themselves and friends to join the Time Takers CBT and the chance to win a year of Discord Nitro.
Time Takers will be launching on PC and consoles later in 2026.
