Multiplayer Action Horror Shooter PC game will launch Beta test on January 6th, 2023

Starry Studio has unveiled a brand new gameplay trailer for the multiplayer action/horror shooter Once Human at the PC Gaming Show 2023 Preview event. The trailer not only shows exciting pitched-battles, where players face off against horrific monsters while searching for supplies, but it also announced the PC beta test will launch on January 6th, 2023.

Once Human is a sandbox survival game developed by Starry Studio, where teams of players use firearms and supernatural abilities to survive against the Aberrant: grotesquely mutated monsters that decimated humanity and left ruined cities in their wake. Themed around “New Weird”, a genre that combines the aesthetics and themes of science fiction, fantasy, and horror, the game evokes a powerful sense of unease with its awesome and powerful opponents that threaten the last remnants of mankind. Conflict is also closer to home, as hard-headed rationality compels the remaining humans to fight each other for the dwindling resources that remain. Players must band together to unite mankind, defeat the Aberrant threat, and uncover the mysteries of their enemies, or risk total destruction.

The Once Human trailer at the PC Gaming Show 2023 Preview featured a battle demo largely recorded in-game. Compared to the first trailer that was shown during the IGN Summer of Gaming event, the graphics and performance have been much improved, with the combat system enhanced to make it more fluid and reactive to the player’s actions. Inspired by the works of H.P.Lovecraft, the New Weird aesthetic of Once Human wants to evoke that same feeling of beauty and horror, contained within a survival sandbox game.

The new Once Human trailer demonstrates some of the large variety of gameplay mechanics that players can expect to see in the final version of the game. These include being able to drive around the post-apocalyptic world, explore monster-filled ruins, fight epic boss monsters for loot, craft new equipment, and even take on other human players in order to plunder their gear. Once Human will also give players the chance to create buildings anywhere in the open world map and collect/modify an arsenal of over 100 firearms.

The trailer ended with the announcement of the new Once Human Beta Test on PC which is set to launch on January 6th, 2023. To participate in the beta, be sure to head to the official Once Human website or click the link to fill out a questionnaire to qualify for the test.
