Medieval City-Builder Farthest Frontier Forges Ahead to Full Release: 1.0. Arrives October 23rd
Following a tremendously successful Early Access period, Farthest Frontier will officially launch into 1.0. on October 23rd, 2025, having grown far beyond its already solid foundation into a definitive new contender in the medieval city builder genre.
During Early Access, Farthest Frontier enjoyed a consistent Very Positive rating on Steam across 16 major updates, over 1.2 million copies sold, and over 1.6 million wishlists. The v1.0 release of Farthest Frontier offers the most comprehensive farming and town management sim available, spearheaded by a plethora of new additions and sharpened mechanics:

CEO & Creative Director Arthur Bruno on the journey to v1.0:“Farthest Frontier started out as sort of a self-indulgent passion project, to take a break from ARPGs and make the kind of town-builder game I’d dreamed of making in college, when I was playing games like Settlers 2, Caesar 3 and Ultimate Domain. When we started development I was not sure how much demand there was for town-builders anymore, but Banished came out of nowhere and proved there was still a good-sized audience for the right kind of game.
Farthest Frontier contains a lot of the depth and ideas I’d always wanted to see in the genre, like more robust farming and an intricate, fully-simulated economy where villagers are actually carrying resources and items back and forth. It’s been a huge challenge, especially since we’ve never had more than 8 people on it at a time but Farthest Frontier turned out bigger and better than I had imagined and I am incredibly proud of the team and what we’ve built.”

Whether you’ve already constructed dozens of settlements over multiple playthroughs or you’ve just founded your first village, the full release of Farthest Frontier invites players to challenge their survival instincts and logistical skills with unmatched city-building mechanics. Forge a town in an untamed wilderness at the edge of the known world. Harvest raw materials, hunt, fish, farm, and trade to sustain your community, ensuring your people’s survival as they contend with the elements, disease, and outside threats.
Farthest Frontier features an abundance of materials to obtain and crops to harvest, dozens of unique buildings to expand your town, and a singularly deep farming system - right down to soil fertility and seasonal rotations. Provide for your people's needs with numerous basic and luxury goods, beautiful decor, and customizable religions. Keep the settlement secure behind formidable fortifications and an army that’s yours to assemble and maintain, as you fend off invaders eager to plunder your wealth with deadly cavalry and catapults, or focus on building a scenic metropolis in Pacifist Mode.

Farthest Frontier will launch at $34.99 in October, reflecting the significant growth the game has experienced over the past 3 years. This will not impact existing owners of the game, who have been wonderful supporters throughout this journey. The Early Access price ($29.99) will be discounted during the Steam Autumn sale, which begins on September 29th, for those who wish to get it at a lower price before launch.
