Lights, Camera… Laceration! The Latest Trailer for The Lacerator Brings a Bloody Good Time
Trashy survival horror The Lacerator just unveiled a new trailer packed with all the limb-detachment, grindhouse chaos that awaits in the upcoming release from Games From The Abyss and publisher DreadXP. Presented by developer Fernando Tittz, the trailer doesn’t shy away from the game’s 80s movie-inspired violence and adult humor, setting the stage for both a terrifying and hilariously deranged survival nightmare that will feature branching paths, multiple endings, and many unexpected, bloody surprises.
The Lacerator is a tense survival horror mixed with the vibe of watching an 80’s grindhouse thriller, throwbacks included, that pays homage to horror genre classics with retro-inspired low-poly visuals and tank controls. Explore a branching environment, fight enemies, and solve puzzles in order to progress in your mission to escape this hell on earth. But beware of The Lacerator and his many traps; you can lose a limb in real time, drastically changing your options for gameplay. Exploration will be crucial for survival, as will fighting. Sometimes you can run away from your foes, but things will often be easier if you can manage to take them down.
Max, a famous porn actor and best to ever do it, is the star of the show. During the latest recording session with his crew, things get really hard when everyone is attacked and abducted by THE LACERATOR. Now inside a filthy hideout, Max must do whatever it takes to escape alive and in one piece… But that likely won’t happen, as the psycho killer loves to LACERATE his victims! What part of your body will be cut this time? Who knows? The LACERATOR does. There are multiple main escape routes, but depending on your remaining limbs, you lose access to some of these paths. Each of these present a different narrative branch that will provide answers not available in the others. Do you dare go back and put the big picture together?
The game’s demo received a massive update today, featuring new playable areas to highlight the multiple paths available for Max, new endings, puzzles, cutscenes, and lacerations… including a very private one (that you already know about if you watched the trailer). New items and weapons are also debuting today, as well as The Man in the Wall, a character available to trade items with.
