Gamescom 2020 | Relive Gamescom with the Feardemic Conference recap

So Gamescom is over, and although it didn’t feel quite the same as the past editions, it certainly kept us glued to our monitors throughout the course of the weekend.

Gamescom 2020 reinforced just how many great products there are out there and how intensely competitive it is for the consumer's attention.

For Feardemic, mindshare was really important to ensure that our games find the audiences that they deserve - so we decided that the development of the “conference” idea as a way to engage and communicate the value of our games over the course of the weekend.

It seems to have worked. Our media tracking feed has been working overtime over the past few days and notifications are coming thick and fast as our games are written about, tweeted about and debated in forums all over the world.

The games

One Shell Straight to Hell (and the Layers of Fear DLC)

Our conference opened with a new trailer for the long-anticipated roguelite top-down shooter with a surly attitude, One Shell Straight to Hell.

The trailer continued to build on the profile of Padre Alexander - the game protagonist - and fans of Layers of Fear found something new to get excited about with the limited edition free DLC at launch.

The DLC will contain a unique mission set into the universe of Layers of Fear that, once completed, will make new themed powers, weapons and upgrades available into the main story of Padre’s Halliwell mission.

We are proud of how far the gameplay has come over the past few months and we can’t wait to share the full game later this year.

Death of Rose

A game that has emerged from the conference as a crowd favorite was Artur Laczkowski’s Death of Rose.

The game had already captured the imagination of horror-aficionados from all over the world, and this weekend - thanks to the IGN exclusive gameplay showcase and the trailer featured in our Conference Video - we received hundreds of messages from interested players looking for more information on this narrative horror adventure.

Cathedral 3-D

Cathedral 3-D wooed the crowd with its retro styling and soul thumping bell. This game is a dark horse and has some really engaging gameplay hooks that will challenge even the most experienced gamers.

Complete with a global leader board that we will launch next month, Cathedral 3-D is set to become a real favorite for those who have a competitive spirit. We have a few more surprises with this one - but watch this space!

DARQ: Complete Edition

The wonderful DARQ, of course, was a real crowd favorite and saw a huge surge in the subscription to our DARQ: Complete Edition newsletter.

The gameplay commentary by the Creator Wlad Marhulets is no longer under embargo,, so do look out for the opportunity to get some insight into this amazing game directly from the creator and feel free to reshare it with your public.

The Raid

We rounded out our conference with the announcement of The Raid. Perhaps somewhat intriguing for fans of the Observer universe, given there is so much activity around the franchise presently with Bloober Team launching the greatly enhanced Observer Redux on PS5 and Steam toward the end of the year.

The Observer story is just beginning and Feardemic is proud to be included in the development of the franchise. We look forward to sharing more information about The Raid and the team 84Raid corporation in the coming months.
