Experience the simpler life of Starsand Island on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026

Chinese developer, Seed Lab, has today confirmed that anime-inspired life and farming sim, Starsand Island, will launch on Nintendo Switch 2, alongside previously announced versions on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.

Scheduled to arrive in early 2026, the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Starsand Island will take full advantage of the console’s hardware, with Quality Mode targeting 45FPS in 1080p resolution, and 60FPS in 1080p resolution in Performance Mode (both docked and handheld), together with Game Chat during online multiplayer, and mouse control functionality.

Starsand Island sees the player’s character escape the hustle and bustle of city life and return to the island home of their youth on a journey of personal healing. As they settle into the calming, pastoral idyll, players will farm, fish, raise animals, explore the island’s mysterious and ancient ruins, and build connections with quirky local characters.

Richardo Wang, Creative Director, Seed Lab said: “Bringing Starsand Island to Nintendo Switch 2 has been a longstanding goal for us; the life-sim genre has a natural home on Nintendo consoles. Even before it was announced nearly a year ago, we knew - and wanted - our game to be on Nintendo’s next-generation platform. Starsand Island transports players to a simple, pastoral life, and we think that should be available whether they’re at home, commuting to and from work, or taking a break.”
