The new special trailer, released today, highlights the beauty of the game and explains a bit of what Dreamcards is, while also celebrating the arrival of the demo. Watch it below:

Cordel style art as the absolute highlight
The most praised aspect by players during testing was the cordel style art direction, used to tell Self’s story in a fragmented way, exploring themes such as family drama, friendships and romance. The illustrations were repeatedly mentioned during the playtests as one of the most striking aspects of the game due to their emotional impact and beauty.

Dreamcards is a roguelike deckbuilder about dreams and self discovery. During the day the player chooses how Self spends their time and receives cards based on real emotions and experiences. At night they face their inner monster using the deck built throughout the day and making real time deckbuilding decisions during each combat.

New features after finishing the demo
After completing the demo, the player will see a panel with several new additions that will be included in the full release of Dreamcards, launching in 2026. These include new cards, ability evolutions and more, all directly shaped by community feedback from fans of this rapidly growing genre.

Enjoy the demo and add Dreamcards to your Steam wishlist to receive future updates. Give it a try, why not? You have nothing to lose and everything to gain since it's free.
