Dead Format launches on Steam, Blending Mixed Media with Survival Horror
Step into Dead Format, a mixed-media survival horror game where every VHS tape opens the door to an iconic era of horror cinema. Available on Steam December 10th.
Set in 1990s Scotland, you search for your missing brother after he becomes obsessed with a mysterious new VHS format. As rumors spread about a government ban on “Video Ghastlies,” you’ll step into the world of the cursed tapes inspired by Silent Era Cinema, Italian Giallo films, and 80s Body Horror. Everything in Dead Format is created specifically for the game, including props, costumes, and original VHS footage recorded and edited by solo developer Katanalevy to capture the look of each era.
