Dash Dash Dead Revealed with New Trailer - A Running Man–inspired Turn-based Roguelite Where Hesitation is Death
Dash Solo dev Virtual Void Studio and publisher Drillhounds today announced Dash Dash Dead, a fast-paced, turn-based roguelite dungeon crawler inspired by dystopian death-game fiction The Running Man, launching on Steam this year.
In Dash Dash Dead, players take on the role of a death row inmate forced into a brutal, ratings-obsessed lethal gameshow where you have to kill for a shot at freedom. Blending turn-based tactics with relentless time pressure, the game delivers a high-momentum core loop where hesitation will be punished and every move counts.
Each run is built around improvisation and escalation. Players scavenge from fallen enemies, combining 100+ unique items to create chaotic builds and drive up ratings. Across 100+ procedurally stitched arena stages, they will face 20+ enemy types with variations, break through 10 mini-boss encounters, and ultimately challenge 6 bosses designed to prevent any escape.
Beyond combat, 20+ side quests offer glimpses into the world behind the show, while a relentless Warden narrates the action throughout. As players progress, they can unlock 8 unique inmates, each bringing different approaches to survival and progression.
With its mix of fast-paced tactics, unpredictable systems, and wacky tone, featuring all kinds of enemies from security bots to hostile mushrooms, Dash Dash Dead challenges players' ability to observe closely, adapt quickly, perform under pressure, and survive long enough to earn their freedom.
