Castle of Alchemists Joins Steam Tower Defense Fest Announces Console Publishing Partnership with Game Source Entertainment

Team Machiavelli is thrilled to announce that its indie action-tower defense hit, Castle of Alchemists, will be a featured title in the upcoming Steam Tower Defense Fest, running from March 9 to March 16.

Alongside its festival appearance, the developer has officially entered into a publishing partnership with Game Source Entertainment (GSE). This collaboration will bring the acclaimed title to a global audience on PlayStation®5 and Nintendo Switch.

A Visceral Fusion of Tower Defense and Action RPG
Castle of Alchemists redefines the genre by blending tactical tower defense with the high-octane, visceral combat of classic shooters like DOOM. Set in a gritty, "Warhammer-esque" fantasy world and rendered in stunning 2D pixel art, the game challenges players to defend their stronghold through both strategy and skill.

The gameplay loop is divided into two distinct phases:

  • The Tactical Phase: Players strategically place permanent traps and towers to fortify the map.

  • The Action Phase: Players take direct control of Bellator, a cybernetically enhanced alchemical defender. Armed with an arsenal of melee weapons, firearms, and temporary deployables like clockwork turrets, players must dive into the fray to repel the mechanical horde.

From a Small Indie Duo to a Global Release

Developed by Team Machiavelli, a boutique studio founded in Turkey in 2021, Castle of Alchemists began as a two-person passion project. The team originally consisted of visual artist Halil Onur Yazicioglu and developer and composer Mehmet Can Güler, and has since expanded to three members. Following the successful 1.0 launch on April 10, 2025, the studio is now focused on its future roadmap and bringing the game to console audiences worldwide via Game Source Entertainment.

Castle of Alchemists is a fast-paced tower defense and action hybrid game with stunning pixel art graphics that developed by Team Machiavelli, and its console versions for PlayStation®5/ Nintendo Switch are published by Game Source Entertainment (GSE).
