Best Indie Game and Most Original Game: Eccentric ink-strategy game Inkulinati wins big at gamescom awards ‘22
With their turn-based strategy game Inkulinati, where medieval manuscripts come alive, Yaza Games and Daedalic Entertainment won two of the most coveted gamescom awards: Best Indie Game and Most Original Game.
In Inkulinati players encounter mythical beasts, half-humans and farting donkeys, and lead them in battle on the game’s 2D book-battlefields. In fights against rival Inkulinati, they collect new creatures for their bestiary, come up with new strategies and duke it out against medieval stars like Dante Alighieri or Death incarnate. The quirky art style, eccentric humor and historical inspiration won over visitors in both the Indie Arena Booth and in the B2B area, and earned Yaza Games and Daedalic Entertainment two awards befitting the unique title.
Inkulinati is coming to Early Access this winter for PC (Windows and Mac), and Xbox Game Preview for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. The eventual full release is planned to launch on additional platforms.
