After 8 Years Offline, Cult Multiplayer Hack-and-Slash RPG Dungeon Rampage Hits Steam Early Access Today

After nearly a decade of absence, Dungeon Rampage is back. The popular multiplayer hack-and-slash RPG, once enjoyed by millions of players each month in the 2010s, launches on Steam Early Access today, December 5, 2025. The return follows a successful Kickstarter campaign that tripled its funding goal and a widely appreciated Steam Next Fest demo that attracted over 80,000 players. Since its announcement in May, the game also surpassed 150,000 wishlists on Steam, highlighting the excitement and anticipation from fans worldwide.

Originally taken offline in 2017, the game’s revival was sparked by Angelos Mako, a fan who spent a third of his lifetime tracking down the original developers. At just 17, Mako helped recover the lost source code and secured the game’s rights before partnering with industry veterans at Gamebreaking Studios to bring his childhood favorite back to life.

“This game means so much to me,” says Mako. “I’ve been waiting for this day for over eight years, and I’m thrilled to see old-time players and newcomers crawl through these dungeons together.”

A Modernized Classic That Will Continue to Grow

Dungeon Rampage has been updated to run smoothly on modern systems and delivers seamless co-op multiplayer. Early Access players can dive into fast-paced, arcade-style dungeon runs, choose from four distinct heroes, and unlock all gameplay content purely through play. No more microtransactions.
To address a major issue from the original game, a new reporting system and anti-cheat measures have been implemented, ensuring fair, competitive dungeon runs for all players.

Major updates planned throughout Early Access will add controller support, four additional heroes from the original game, and Ultimate Rampage, a roguelite challenge mode that ramps up the chaos even further.
Dungeon Rampage has been launched on Steam Early Access with regional pricing to ensure players worldwide can join the action.
