For the first time, Legend of the Five Rings’ rich legacy of tactical combat, political intrigue, and clan loyalty comes to life in a strategic roguelite adventure, blending deep RPG mechanics with dynamic deckbuilding. Shadowveil: Legend of the Five Rings is now available on PC.
Be a Warrior and Tactician
Following an important mission for decorated samurai siblings Hida O-Ushi, a berserker warrior, and Hida Sukune, a genius tactician, in Shadowveil: Legend of the Five Rings players will undertake a quest into the dark and mysterious Shadowlands to locate an invaluable missing artefact of the Crab Clan.
Players will need to navigate the internal politics of the clan to ensure that the demands of O-Ushi and Sukune’s father are met by any means necessary. Undertake side missions assigned by the Magistrate and grow your power and influence while embodying the clan’s code of being pragmatic and iron-willed in the face of danger.
Upgrade Your Skills and Influence
Taking control of either O-Ushi or Sukune and two other newly minted samurai recruits, players will be faced with a variety of quests and challenging strategic battles against terrifying Shadowlands inhabitants. In this hybrid roguelite-strategy game, each run offers new opportunities to claim victory; as players progress, they will unlock new classes of recruits, from Scouts to Witch Hunters, as well as new items and cards that will upgrade their healing, speed, defence, and combat.
Every decision matters, and players must quickly adapt their forces, skills, and starting positions for each fight. With new cards to unlock, unique card combinations to create skilled samurai, special starting positions to increase defence and combat capabilities, and the option for tactical retreats, players have complete control to ensure every run is different from the last.
