A Delicious New Update is Now Available on PC for Cooking-Meets-Metroidvania-lite Magical Delicacy

We have a scrumptious announcement today, as Skaule, the developer behind the beloved cooking-sim-meets-Metroidvania-lite, Magical Delicacy, has released a major free update for the game on Steam, filled with a smorgasbord of new quality-of-life features!

The new features aim to bring even more comfort to the game’s already cozy experience, helping players find and keep track of many of the exciting items to collect and explore on their journey to help Flora become a full-fleged witch!

You can read the full details about the latest update for Magical Delicacy on Steam, but here is a brief overview of what's included:

  • Difficulty Settings: You can now choose from three new difficulty settings: Relaxing, Normal, and Challenging. The settings will adjust your starting gear, enable or disable a few customizable difficulty settings, or adjust the price and balancing of several items in the game.

New Setting Options: In addition to overall adjustments and tweaks, new toggleable options have been added, including:

  • Successful Wares Hint: A new hint system that shows you which of your created dishes and potions can be delivered to an active order.

  • Delivery Directions: While on the same level as a customer with an active order, you’ll be able to see the direction of that customer.

  • Other Quality-of-Life Options, including Faster Plant Growth, Disable Equipment Limit, Increase Inventory Capacity, Instant Cooking, and adjustable Rewards

  • Adjustable Tutorial: You can now adjust the number of tutorial hints that are displayed at the start of a new game.

  • Teleport Home: You can now obtain the Whistle of Crows keepsake, which will allow you to return home via the map.

  • Additional Quality of Life and Balancing Improvements: Additional improvements are now present in the overall gameplay, including:

    • The ability to purchase the Ancient Cap

    • Invenstory stacks now hold up to 99 ingredients (previously 19) of a single type - inventory limit still applies

    • Kitchen tools now show how they can be used to enhance ingredients when buying them from the merchant

    • Improved guide graphic

    • Adjustments to the audio setting controls
