A Cozy Hand-Painted Japanese Adventure About Kindness, Spirits and Quiet Discovery
Seina: A Tale of Spirits invites players into a Japanese-inspired, hand-painted world that feels like stepping inside a storybook. Forest paths, old shrines and spirit-touched places unfold in a soft watercolor style, encouraging players to explore at their own pace and enjoy a calm, atmospheric journey. The world draws from traditional Japanese values, connection to nature, appreciation of small details and a quiet sense of life in every corner. The game is set to launch in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
The new teaser trailer follows Mika as she searches for her missing cat, offering a first glimpse of glowing spirits, tranquil landscapes and the gentle mood that defines the game. Created by solo woman developer Argyro Brotsi, Seina: A Tale of Spirits is shaped by her travels through Japan and her admiration for its villages, nature and traditions. Her personal experiences inspired a story about companionship, kindness and small moments of peace.

Gameplay centers on relaxed exploration and intimate discoveries. Players wander through watercolor environments, uncover secrets, interact with friendly spirits and observe environmental details that gradually reveal the world’s story. Narrative moments appear through gestures, expressions, and simple interactions rather than dialogue or fast-paced progression.

As Mika travels deeper into the spirit realm, she encounters shrines, forgotten paths and ancient dwellings that each hold memories of the world. The journey unfolds naturally from exploration, highlighting themes of connection, respect and the quiet magic found in everyday moments.
