“Cave Crave” - Eagerly Awaited VR Spelunking Releases on June 26th on Meta Quest with preorder discount and July 10th on PSVR2

3R Games, the studio behind the bestselling Thief Simulator VR: Greenview Street and upcoming physics sandbox builder Besiege VR revealed release date for their latest title - Cave Crave.

Described as “the most realistic cave exploration in VR” the title will arrive on Meta Quest on June 26th and shortly after - to PSVR2 on July 10th. The game will allow you to navigate the underground like never before with crawling, climbing and its unique squeezing-through-super-tight places mechanics.

Three game modes at launch

Story
Begin your expedition with the first story chapter, featuring a starting map set. A second map set expanding the story will arrive shortly after the release as 1st of planned free updates.

Tourist
Revisit explored caves in a relaxed, pressure-free experience, immerse yourself in the depths and atmospheric soundtrack.

Horror
A completely optional and standalone mode. Dive into the terrifying unknown, where your tools are your only defense against. .. things. Not for the faint of heart.

Gameplay highlights

  • Mind-bending cave systems

    • The game offers realistic, non-repetitive and highly irregular underground layouts. “Forget square corridors with “cave03.png” textures. We’re doing the real thing” - says Piotr Surmacz, game director and 3R Games CEO.

  • Realistic environments

    • Marvel at detailed terrain textures and kill time playing with stones or catching falling waterdrops. The cave breathes a life of its own, but be careful, it may take yours.

  • Chalk your way

    • No built-in map. Create your own navigation trail using chalk markings.

  • Free climbing

    • Climb wherever and however you like, building your own way towards the goal. Every surface is reachable if you're bold (and skilled) enough.

  • Breath management

    • Master your breathing to squeeze through impossibly tight spaces - or to avoid drowning while cave diving (dropping with 1st free update after the release).

  • Break barriers

    • Use your tools to smash stalactites, clear debris, and blast through other obstacles.
