It was also announced that the Steam version of Vampire Survivors will be fully switching to the new engine on 17th August (currently, the game runs on the old and new engine in parallel), and the team will soon host its first-ever IRL community event.

Steam Community Items (Trading Cards, emoticons, etc.) are out today

Community Items were a much-requested community feature, so from today on, players can unlock the following to bolster their Steam profiles:

Spoiler: If you look really closely, you might spot a super subtle video game reference or two on the Trading Cards.

First co-op mode gameplay video + new co-op item info
As the old saying goes: “A first gameplay video is worth a thousand words”. That’s why developer poncle has now released the first gameplay video of Vampire Survivors’ co-op mode, recorded by the lovely folks at IGN via Xbox.

It should answer many fan questions, such as how levelling up, moving as a group, and destroying friendships works. The video shows an advanced build of the new mode, but details are still being tweaked and balanced.

New co-op item revealed: The Friendship Amulet
The team also revealed a new item for the co-op mode today: an ancient, almighty artefact called… The Friendship Amulet.

This item can appear on the level-up screen and will level up a random weapon for each player. Players will have to decide if they tactically (or selfishly) pick a level-up for a weapon of their choice or give the whole group a round of random level-up.

Fully switching to new engine
Vampire Survivors on Steam has been simultaneously running on its original engine and its new engine (which was needed for porting and better stability) for a while. Now that the game has reached the point where the new engine has been thoroughly tested and runs as stable as the old one, the Steam version of the game will fully switch over to the new engine on 17th August, when the co-op update hits.

Co-op hands-on event in London
poncle is hosting its first-ever community event in real life! It’s a hands-on event where players and VIPs can try out the co-op mode with friends (if you don’t have any friends, don’t worry, the team provide some in this case, as it’s a much-requested feature) before it launches. The co-op event will be taking place in early August in London.

Players can expect the co-op mode, free stuff and surprising snacks. Tickets will be free but limited. Poncle will announce more details on how to apply for tickets on their Twitter and TikTok.
