About Museum Speelklok
Museum Speelklok is the world’s largest museum dedicated to music machines. It brings centuries-old mechanical instruments to life, from grand street organs and royal clocks to enchanting music boxes and automata. The museum bridges the gap between mechanical and digital technology, as these historical machines were essentially the first robots, programmed much like early computers. What is remarkable is that all the instruments in the museum still work and are maintained in perfect working condition. Museum Speelklok is housed in the medieval Buurkerk, right in the heart of Utrecht.
