Kawamori Shoji x SMC Collaboration is Out!

Super Mecha Champions, the urban anime-style battle royal shooter will officially launch its new transformable mecha “Pulsar” today, designed by the famous Japanese mecha designer - Kawamori Shoji! This collaboration is also the latest progress of the SMC Global Designers Cooperation Plan.

As a well-known Japanese mecha designer and anime director, Kawamori Shoji masters at designing the transformation from robots into other forms. He has been involved in designing for many world-famous animes such as Ghost in the Shell, The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Gundam 0083. His unique mechanical transformable design concept is now applied to the "Pulsar".

The original "Pulsar" was a transformable armed experimental machine with autonomous learning ability created by the Priory radicals in the "Paradise" project. However, "Pulsar" was seriously damaged in a man-made "experiment accident" when Lan Xin, a pilot who specializes in human mechanics, saved it from the fate of abortion.

With Lan Xin’s care, Pulsar miraculously recovered to its normal operation, carrying the tokamak concentrated pulse gun, the most powerful weapon in the Priory, and the ANN two-handed pulse rifle with much higher firing speed than ordinary pulse gun. "Pulsar" was also equipped with “Eden”, the artificial neural network system, to greatly improve the synchronization rate with pilot through its own intelligent features.

To highlight these characteristics of "Pulsar", Master Kawamori applied a ringed design to impose a much more powerful firing image of the beam cannon. When in humanoid form, the blue-and-white “Pulsar” looks like a cowboy ready to draw its deadly weapon out of the holster. When transformed into mecha form, “Pulsar” can switch freely between Extended Spread Mode of Pulse Blaster and its Single Snipe Mode, illustrating its high flexibility on the unpredictable battlefields.

“Pulsar” will be officially launched on March 10th, and players can acquire it with Crystal. It is with no doubt that "Pulsar", the mecha powered by both technology and fantasy, will become a non-negligible presence in the mecha urban arena.

Another artist invited from Kawamori Studio as the designer for “Lan Xin” is Ebata Risa, whose collection includes well-known characters such as Tsuki and Nanakori from Xenoblade 2 as well as Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee from The Super Dimension Fortress Macross F. “Lan Xin”, the new character built by Ebata Risa, possesses an eccentric personality with two sides in her heart. She feels so gentle with all motherhood on the outside. But inside of her resides the greatest ambition of breaking the barrier between human and mecha.

SMC has been committed to build an open and diversified fantasy world through cross-over cooperation. With artists like Kamata Mitsuji, Kawamori Shoji, Ebata Risa and more coming on board, the Global Designers Cooperation Plan is marching forward in its steady progression. In the future, there will be more artists from various fields joining us in building the SMC cross-dimensional fantasy world with much more to be expected! Please stay tuned!
