Coffee Stain and Lavapotion announce Songs of Conquest 1.0 launch and new roadmap

Coffee Stain Publishing and Lavapotion are pleased to announce their fantasy turn-based strategy game Songs of Conquest will leave early access in Q1 2024. This comes as part of a newly unveiled roadmap with details of added new content and improvements on their way through 2023 and beyond - including Steam Deck support, achievements, and a brand new upcoming single player campaign!

Songs of Conquest is now set to enter 1.0 at the start of 2024, alongside the long-awaited Barya Campaign. This new single player campaign will induct players into the Barya faction, a mercantile nation with a love for gold and gunpowder. The game’s full release will also see major AI improvements, new skirmish maps, user experience upgrades, Steam trading cards and more.

Take a look at the full 2023/2024 roadmap below:

There’s plenty to look forward to before 1.0, however. This year, players can expect ongoing improvements to the game’s AI, as well as netcode optimisation, expanded capabilities for mods and maps, achievements and gamepad support. In Q4, Songs of Conquest will officially release on Steam Deck, allowing players to take their battles with them on the go for the very first time.

“It’s been a big year for Songs of Conquest already with the release of the Barony of Loth campaign in May, and we’re so excited to start 2024 off with the next biggest thing we can think of - our 1.0 launch!” Said Carl Toftfelt, Lead Game Designer at Lavapotion. “We're adding new features on top of our original roadmap to expand what Songs of Conquest can offer - whether it's map enhancements or improvements to combat and AI that are a vital part of every turn-based strategy game. We’ve had an incredible journey through early access, and couldn’t be more thankful to our community for the invaluable feedback they’ve given us during this time - not long now, wielders.”

Songs of Conquest first released into Early Access on PC on May 10th, 2022, and has continually added new features, improvements and content, including:

  • The Barony of Loth - a single player campaign providing an in-depth exploration of the game’s sinister necromancer faction

  • Battlegrounds - mode allowing players to thrust their armies straight into battle

  • Random Map Generator - bringing variety and endlessly replayable adventure maps

  • Map Editor Update - improving the creation of player-generated maps & campaigns

Songs of Conquest will launch in 1.0 during Q1 of 2024.
